Life After Hurricane Harvey

Yes, it's been awhile since I blogged. Life is like that. Best laid plans of mice and men as it were.

After a rather difficult journey to Wisconsin, trailer axle failed on the Kansas Turnpike, just about 30 miles from Topeka. I had to leave the boat and much of what I ha put in it at a wrecker yard in El Dorado. I made a trip back to get the boat and belongings week before last.

Currently building a fence enclosing about half the properties for the dogs. The house in Stevenage Point has a huge lot, thee largest in the neighborhood. It's about 240 feet total. Good times.

I will be heading back to Rockport in about three weeks to paint at least two houses for about five grand total. There is one more I haven't decided on that would fetch another three. I paint alone and it will take two to three weeks per house.

This has been a hell of a year for hurricanes. Throw in the atrocities in Vegas and it becomes harder to see the good in the world. It's there; it always is. You just have to look harder.

My writing has come to a virtual standstill. I have a lot to put down, especially poetically. I hope to find time soon. I stumbled into a position as a beta reader/book reviewer for a promotional company that represents authors. It has garnered me an invite to submit Lazarus to a publisher, and a very well respected editor. We shall see what comes of it.

In the interim, I will try to stay active on Twitter and Facebook as my website is still down. I should have time to get it back up once I am back in Rockport.

Keep the faith. I am. Please be patient as I work through reality to get back to the world of Mr. Solaris.

Robert.
